Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Fall Break

OH my god. I have never been so excited for a class to be over in my life xD I just finished my last math class EVER. Thank the Lord, lol.

This class nearly killed me ;3;

Like seriously.. I feel so awful right now xD I haven't been able to get enough sleep the past 3 weeks because of this class! I've been having to stay up till 3am-ish nearly every night finishing assignments, and then I have to get up by 7:30, sometimes 6:30am.. noooot enough sleep for this gal xD I like around 8 hours, but can function on 6. 4 hours is not enough xD

So yeah, I've been feeling very light-headed and dizzy and lethargic lately. My vision keeps swimming. Now that I'm on fall break, I think I will be doing a loooot of sleeping, lmao. Gosh, I hope I don't keep dreaming about math problems, though xDD

I'm also gonna try to finish a couple pieces that I've been putting off, so I hope to be posting something soon :3
